Macau casinos have just posted a healthy month on month gain in gross gaming revenues. Revenue for March 2017 was 18% higher than March 2016; the 8th monthly gain in a row since the tenuous recovery began in August last year.
Prior to August 2016 revenues had declined every month since June 2014, illustrated by the variance column in the below tables, sourced from Macau’s DICJ.

Despite recent gains, the latest monthly figure of 21 billion MOP (USD 2.59 billion) is still a long way off the all time monthly high of 38 billion MOP. Shortly after this figure was set, an anti-corruption campaign in Beijing stemmed the flow of money from mainland China into Macau, and resulted in a 26 month fall in casino revenues.
